Illickal Kallu in Kottayam District is a famous hill station and the hills there has a special shape. One hill shape matches a mushroom owing to which it gets its name "Kuda Kallu". In Malayalam Kuda Kallu means a umbrella shaped rock. The medicinal herb "Neela Koduveli" grows in Illickal Kallu hills. The Neela Koduveli flowers is considered to have super-natural powers that could step-up wealth & guarantee a prosperous harvest. The second hill in Illickal Kallu Kottayam is known as Kunnu Kallu as it has a small hunch on the sides. There is a half feet wide bridge called Narakapalam across the rock.
